Both R. Kelly and Jay-Z were flying high around the time of The Best of Both Worlds, so the idea of a collaborative album was a reasonable one, following up the success of The Blueprint (2001) and TP-2.com (2000). The Best of Both Worlds falls terribly short of both artists' high standards, unfortunately, sounding as if the vocals were phoned in, which in the case of Jay-Z they probably were, for his contributions (interjections and verses, mainly) sound like filler here. Kelly fares better throughout The Best of Both Worlds, supplying some potent hooks and co-producing the tracks with the Trackmasters (i.e., Poke and Tone), but not even he can carry an album this uninspired. Still, there are some moments where the collaborations click, particularly on the album's singles, "Get This Money" and "Take You Home with Me." Overall, though, The Best of Both Worlds rates among the poorest efforts -- arguably the poorest -- in either Kelly's or Jay-Z's catalog to date.
Of course, Picard tops off the look by adding a long feather to an iconic byecocket cap. Fans might notice another sweet detail: the captain's goatee. It is both glorious and pays homage to Errol Flynn's 1938 rendition of the beloved character in "The Adventures of Robin Hood."

If this ensemble had a name, it would probably be "withered." The captain's gray, tattered overalls and wicker farmer's hat really capture the tired-vintner-with-a-past vibe. All in all, this is an episode worth watching, as it both properly honored the end of a fine series and showcased an unforgettable Jean-Luc fashion moment.
Cython is an optimising static compiler for both thePython programminglanguage and the extended Cython programming language (based on Pyrex). It makes writing C extensions for Python as easy as Python itself.
The Cython language is a superset of the Python language thatadditionally supports calling C functions and declaringC types on variables and class attributes. This allows thecompiler to generate very efficient C code from Cython code. The C code is generated once and then compiles with all majorC/C++ compilers in CPython 2.6, 2.7 (2.4+with Cython 0.20.x) as well as 3.3 and all later versions. We regularly run integration tests against all supported CPython versions andtheir latest in-development branches to make sure that the generated code stayswidely compatible and well adapted to each version.PyPy support is work in progress (on both sides)and is considered mostly usablesince Cython 0.17. The latest PyPy version is always recommended here.

The question was, in auto-generated code, to what extent therewere bugs there, to what extent there were bugs in the generators. Thefirst time I did this, I got lots and lots of warnings from the tool forcode generated by both SWIG and Cython [...]
A star-studded hangout since hosting the first-ever Oscars in 1929, The Hollywood Roosevelt is an iconic hotel. It's palm-fringed pool has a reputation for celeb-worthy parties, and Travel + Leisure awards it the title of pool "best to be seen." To top it off, its prime Walk of Fame location makes it the preferred choice for visitors.
According to Travel + Leisure, the Atlantic Hotel offers the best of both worlds. "The property offers all the fixings of a large, lively resort" with its all-suite accommodations and lively pool scene. On the flip side, though, it "still manages to feel more like a peaceful boutique hotel" thanks to its serene, beachfront location.
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has recognized R. Kelly as one of the best-selling music artists in the United States with 40 million albums sold as well as only the fifth black artist to crack the top 50 of the same list.[9] In March 2011, R. Kelly was named the most successful R&B artist of the last 25 years by Billboard.[10][11][12] Kelly has released 12 solo studio albums, and sold over 60 million albums and 15 million singles worldwide, making him the most successful R&B male artist of the 1990s.[13][14][15] He has been credited for helping redefine R&B and hip hop, earning the nicknames "King of R&B" and "King of Pop-Soul".[16][17] He is listed by Billboard as the most successful R&B/Hip Hop artist of the past 25 years (1985-2010) and also the most successful R&B artist in history.[11] Throughout his career, Kelly has won numerous awards, including a Guinness World Records as well as countless other awards like Grammy, BET, Soul Train, Billboard, NAACP, and American Music Awards.
During this time, R. Kelly also collaborated with a variety of artists. He co-wrote and is featured on Lady Gaga's song "Do What U Want" from her 2013 album Artpop. R. Kelly performed his duet with Lady Gaga for the first time on Saturday Night Live on November 16, 2013.[90] The two are also scheduled to perform the song live again at the 2013 American Music Awards.[91] He also collaborated with Birdman and Lil Wayne on the Rich Gang album's second single and on Twista's first single on his new album "Dark Horse".[92][93] Music videos have been produced for both singles. At midnight on November 17, R. Kelly and Justin Bieber debuted their first collaboration entitled "PYD".[94]
According to Vibe and the Chicago Sun-Times, Kelly and a then 15-year-old singer protege Aaliyah were illegally married in a secret wedding ceremony on August 31, 1994 in Cook County conducted by Reverend Nathan J. Edmond from Chicago.[126][130] Kelly was introduced to Aaliyah by her uncle, Barry Hankerson, just three years prior when she was 12 years old.[126] The marriage was annulled in February 1995 at the behest of Aaliyah's family by a Michigan judge.[54] Kelly and Aaliyah, however, both denied that the marriage occurred and even denied that their relationship had ever moved beyond friendship.[131] Despite denials of marriage, in May 1997 Aaliyah filed a lawsuit in Cook County to have the marriage records expunged. This action occurred in the midst of a suit filed by Tiffany Hawkins, who was seeking to use the marriage documents in her case. Aaliyah stated in court documents that she was underage at the time of marriage and, under Illinois state law, could not legally enter into marriage without parental consent.[126]
Kelly is considered to be one of the most successful R&B artists of the last 25 years.[11] He is also one of the best-selling music artists in the United States with over 30 million albums sold as well as only the fifth black artist to enter the top 50 of the same list.[9] Rolling Stone magazine called him "arguably the most important R&B figure of the 1990s and 2000s."[146] Music executive Barry Weiss described Kelly as "the modern-day Prince, although there's a bit of Marvin Gaye in him, and a bit of Irving Berlin."[147]
HU: ...During the Spring Festival week which is (speaking Chinese) - what we say in Chinese. But really, it's hard to both pay attention to what's going on here at the Olympics. But then there's this real helplessness that I feel as an American and then as a news consumer and as a mom, you know...
SANDERS: Gotcha. Apparently, when the winner of the best in show portion of the dog show was announced, which is, like, the top prize, it was kind of an upset. A bichon frise named Flynn won best in show. And this was a shock.
HU: So it's really awesome. Yeah. And then, I think Chloe Kim has had to address a lot of questions about her identity. And ultimately, she settled on this - the line that not only is she proud to represent America as an American, she's happy to see that the Korean people are really celebrating her victory, as well, because Korea is the country of her parents, you know? And she has so much extended family, and so she kind of gets the best of both worlds.
SANDERS: All right. That concludes Who Said That. All right, guys. It's almost time to end the show, as we always do, by having our listeners share with us the best things that happened to them all week. But first, I want to follow up on one of the best things that we played in the show last week. Last week on the show, a listener named Minnie (ph) called us up because - listen, guys - she saw Beyonce at a SoulCycle in Los Angeles.
TONY: Hey, Sam. This is Tony (ph) from Vermont. The best thing that happened to me this week is that after a crazy amount of time and paperwork and fees and red tape, I finally got my approval to become a permanent resident in Canada.
JEROME: Hey, Sam - the worst part of last week - I finished my vacation and had to come home. But the best part - it was in Costa Rica, my mother's home country. And I was there with my two little sons, Seb (ph) and Sam, and they got to meet our family for the first time - all 50-plus of them.
SANDERS: Special thanks to all the voices you heard there - Kat, Hannah, Meredith (ph), Taylor (ph), Somi (ph), Esther, Tony, Jerome (ph) and Alex Davis - thanks for that note. Sending good thoughts to you and the entire community there. At any time throughout any week, send me the sound of your voice telling me the best part of your week. Email us - samsanders@npr.org - samsanders@npr.org. All right, guys. We did it.
